Palatine Swine We have a small herd of pigs for our own needs and for sale. Our breeding pair are Duroc/Hampshire/Berkshire cross. "Charlie" is the Boar and "Lola" is the Sow. We breed twice a year and have 4 piglets available at this time. Born in February 2007 they will be market weight easily by the fall holidays. There are 2 boars and 2 gilts left out of a litter of eight. As of 9/19/07 we are the proud "grandparents" of another litter of 8 piglets, statistics and pictures will be posted as soon as we get them! Palatine Caprines We manage a small but growing herd of goats. Our goats provide meat, milk and dairy products. Currently we have 2 Purebred Nubian Bucklings, 2 Nigerian/Pygmy Doe crosses and the newest member of the group is a Purebred Saanen Doe. All the Does have been bred and we expect kids in August & September. The Nigerian cross does were bred by the Nubian Bucks and the Saanen came to us bred by a Boer Buck. Palatine Poultry We have chickens! We enjoy the company of approximately 30 chickens at any time for our own family needs and for sale. Our flock consists of Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Barred Rocks and Americaunas. As of September 2007 we only have 5 roosters and eggs by the dozen for sale at this time.
