As of 1/08 we no longer have any male pigs on the farm. "Charlie" and the 1 boar "Jr." had a blessed life but now they are ribs, chops, roasts and sausage in our freezer.

"Lola", a Duroc/Hampshire/Berkshire cross

We ended up keeping the only gilt left from Lola's 2/07 litter and her name is "Lolita"

Both females were accidentaly bred back to either "Charlie" or "Jr." (we never saw the culprit!) just before they went to slaughter so.....

We have piglets! On 3/18/08 Lolita had 8 piglets. We won't know for a couple of days how many are boy and girls because we like to give new moms some time to get used to the idea of being mommies but, as soon as we know what we have we'll update this page!

We will be selling all of the piglets and even Lolita to raise money for  the purebred Yorkshire sow and boar that will begin a foundation herd. 

Anyone interested in trading a Yorkshire for Lolita let us know.
